Are you looking for an alternative to installing expensive pull out drawers in the back of your campervan or pickup truck? I used 2 6’remnants of 3/4″ plywood left over from another project. Glad I saved the plywood! I was tired of climbing under the bed to retrieve our camping supplies. Sliding out camping equipment is now easy.
My camper van doubles as our family daily driver. I don’t like anything that is permanently fixed. For example, our beds and seats are all easily removed turning our camping van into a bare-bones cargo van in minutes.
I installed 2″ screw in furniture sliders under the plywood and cut 2 holes in the front to hold paracord handles.
These are not pull-out drawers. I use the sliding plywood to gain easy access to our stacking camping storage bins, and other frequently used items.
Pull Out Drawers Parts List
Furniture Sliders
2 1/2 furniture sliders. Amazon sells a 4 pack of Shepard 2 1/2″ furniture sliders for a little more than $5. I used a wood screw to secure into the plywood. The sticky tape that comes with these will fall off over time.

550 Paracord or Thick Braided Rope
I bought a few feet of thick braided rope at our local hardware store. The paracord hurt the hands after lifting several times.
Plastic Storage Bins
Amazon and Walmart offer amazing choices for stacking storage bins. Every vehicle is different. I bought black Sterilite storage bins at Walmart. The black plastic is more flexible than the clear see threw storage bins. We are in our third year with 6 black Sterilite storage bins shown in the photo and there are no cracks.
